Although they are natural landscapes, National Parks actually encompass many rural settlements, villages, towns and even cities meaning there are thousands of people living and working inside them.

The challenge

Many people live in and work in the UK's 15 National Parks, however most of the land within the Parks is not actually owned by the Park Authorities. This means that a key challenge of the Park Authorities is that they have to work with and balance the interests of a great number of different groups, including local residents, communities, businesses, farmers, land developers and more.
